1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GCI Nigeria Hymns, provided by The Just ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information when you use the Android application. It applies only to GCI Nigeria Hymns.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information or sensitive user data. The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photographs, financial information, or health information.
The app does not contain advertising SDKs or third-party analytics services, and we do not track your activity across apps or websites.
3. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following information locally on your device so its features work:
- Reading preferences, including text size, line spacing, appearance, Bible-reference visibility, and screen-awake preference.
- The hymn numbers you mark as favourites.
- A limited list of recently opened hymn numbers.
This information is not sent to us or to any third party. It remains on your device and can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. Recent hymns can also be cleared from the app's Settings screen.
4. Sharing hymns
When you choose the Share feature, the app passes the selected hymn text to Android's system share sheet. You decide which compatible app or person receives it. We do not receive a copy, control the selected service, or collect information about the share. The privacy practices of the service you choose are governed by that service's own policy.
5. Internet access and permissions
The hymn library is included with the app and is available offline. The Android build may include standard internet capability supplied by its application framework, but GCI Nigeria Hymns does not use it to collect or transmit personal data. The app may use vibration for normal interface feedback and may keep the screen awake while a hymn is open if that preference is enabled.
6. Data retention, deletion, and security
Because we do not collect or retain user data on our servers, we have no server-held personal data to retrieve or delete. Locally stored preferences, favourites, and recent hymn history remain until you clear them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Keeping this information on your device reduces exposure to remote access or disclosure.
7. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app's features or data practices change. Any update will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the app and its Google Play disclosures where required.
